Cavity Sliders in Wet Areas

Euro Cav Aluminium Cavity Sliders

Euro Cav is our aluminium cavity slider, and it’s what we’ve built our name on over 23 years. It’s designed for the architectural jobs where a standard timber cavity unit lets you down: tall doors, heavy doors, tiled bathrooms, and square set finishes where a bowed jamb shows up straight away.

We supply builders, carpenters and architects across NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, the ACT and WA, for high-end homes, multi-residential and commercial fitouts alike. That includes Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Adelaide and Canberra, as well as Sydney.

Why We Use Aluminium

It Stays Straight

Timber cavity units move. They twist, the split jambs bow where the door enters the pocket, and before long the door is rubbing. On a square set job, that's a callback. Euro Cav is aluminium right through, with high-tensile split jambs that stay straight.

Built for Tiled Walls

Tiles add weight and don't forgive movement. The aluminium frame takes the load and won't swell with moisture, which is why builders use Euro Cav in ensuites and bathrooms.

Svelto Connect

The part installers like most. The door clips onto the Swiss-made carriage in seconds and can go in after the walls are finished. The swivel T-guide means a door can come out and go back in without pulling anything apart.

Configurations and Finishes

Single, Double and Bi-Parting Cavity Sliders

  • Single: one door into one cavity. Bedrooms, ensuites, robes.
  • Double: a cavity each side for wider openings between living areas.
  • Bi-parting: two doors meeting in the middle. Two 820mm doors give a 1600mm clear opening.
  • Corner bi-parting: doors meeting at a corner.
  • Overtaking and triple overtaking: two or three panels sliding into one cavity, for the widest openings.

Custom Cavity Sliders

Most of our cavity sliders are made to suit the job. Non-standard door sizes, tall and wide openings up to 3m, heavy doors up to 160kg, and thicker walls with custom reveals. Send us the details and we’ll make it to suit.

Tiled Bathrooms and Wet Areas

Wet areas are where timber cavity units struggle most. Tiles add weight, moisture makes timber move, and any movement cracks the tiles or jams the door.

Euro Cav is detailed for tiled walls, with villaboard and tile edge details for both square set and shadowline finishes. See cavity sliders in wet areas for the details.

Wall Thickness

Euro Cav needs a minimum 90mm timber or 92mm steel stud.

For thicker walls, we still supply a 90mm frame, with the reveals made wider to suit. For example, on 110mm brickwork the reveals come 10mm wider each side. You pack out the sides of the cavity by 10mm, then line the wall and cavity to match.

We don’t supply anything thinner than 90mm. The split jambs get too thin, they bow, and the door rubs every time it opens. Some companies make them to fill the gap, but after 23 years we wouldn’t put our name on one.
